About THT – History
Since the founding of the Tuart Hill Motors (THM) family in 1949, the Hare’s family business has been providing West Australians with high quality products and true local service.

In 1961 as the business grew, the company Tuart Hill Truck Sales Pty Ltd (THT) was formed, and went on to become the state distributor for ERF, Deutz and Sedden Trucks and Chrysler cars and trucks as well as building their own semi-trailers. John Hare’s son Andrew joined his father in 1973 as an apprentice mechanic, making three generations, and progressed through the company resulting in him holding the position of general manager. John Hare’s daughter, Debra Walker also joined the family business in 1987 and in association with Barbara Hare is responsible for office administration within the family business.

The company then became the state distributor for Allis Chalmers, Fendt, Welger, Heston and Laverda agricultural machinery and opened country THT branches in Goomalling, Katanning, Geraldton and Merredin to serve these areas with sales and mobile support teams for service and repairs.
As the agricultural industry began to change, THT decided to exit from this industry and enter the growing marine engine market, and in 1988 formed a new subsidiary trading as THT Marine Sales. THT Marine began to offer diesel engines to the W.A. Commercial and Pleasure boat markets and became the sole W.A. Distributors for FPT Iveco (Fiat), Doosan and FNM products.

THT Marine have become a long serving company offering competitive engines for all applications in the marine and industrial industries and pride themselves on their continuing support in sales and service and repairs by their highly trained team of diesel technicians.
Andrew Hare’s son, Joshua, has now joined the business, being the 4th generation, as a sales and marketing representative, which ensures the continuing success of Tuart Hill Truck (Sales) PTY LTD and THT Marine Sales far into the future.
